Stable Grounds is our National School Counseling Week highlight this morning. This non-profit sits just off our campus, yet these two counselors work every day to help a portion of our student population work through some traumatic issues. We appreciate Mrs. Cripe and Mrs. Snider for all of their work!!!
Today we want to recognize our awesome counseling department at Northridge Middle School. This group works incredibly hard to help middle school students make good choices, learn how to treat others with respect, and begin to think about their future. We appreciate all that you do. Happy National School Counseling Week to Mrs. Bernth, Mr. Tadeo, Mrs. Wagner, and Mrs. Yoder!
Northridge Middle School students and staff presented at last night's school board meeting. Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Varner, and students shared information about all of the activities that happen in the library. The library is a hub for the school and offers activities such as Battle of the Books, game days, book clubs, and hosts assistants who help in the library. NMS students greatly benefit from all of the things happening in the library under Mrs. Varner's leadership!
We want to recognize our counselors during National School Counseling Week. Today we highlight our K-3 counselors, Mr. Francis, Mrs. Hamood, Mrs. Palmer, and Mr. Peery. This group works with students in each of our K-3 buildings and helps guide our youngest learners. We thank you!!
Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens, has just released the 2024 Key and Honorable Mention awards. Nine students from Northridge High School earned honors this year, several earning more than one distinction. Students’ entries are blindly adjudicated by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts, with jurors looking for works that exemplify the Awards’ core values: originality, technical skill, and the emergence of personal voice or vision. Please congratulate these students on their accomplishments:
This week is National School Counseling Week. We want to thank all of our school counselors and counseling staff for everything that they do to help students. These staff members play an integral role in supporting students in multiple ways. Thank you!

Help us wish our awesome Director of Technology, Jeremy Miller, a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We are so grateful for this guy and all the hard work he puts in every day making sure MCS is running smoothly. Jeremy started his day off indulging in some Chick-Fil-A (his favorite) and singing some Vanilla Ice (IYKYK!). 😎

York Elementary students, along with Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Pickard, attended the school board meeting last evening and performed a song that included elements of movement and dance with basketballs. This performance highlighted the importance of specials classes working together. The students did a fantastic job performing and the song ended with applause from the board and audience. Way to go York!
This past Friday was the 100th day of school. Jefferson students celebrated by dressing up like a 100-year old. We love this!
MCS will have e-learning today, January 23, 2024.
Early this morning, most of our county roads and subdivision roads were ice covered and slippery. However, the temperature was slightly above freezing and the rain was starting to melt the ice. The decision was made to delay and continue assessing.
Unfortunately, the ice on some county roads and in most neighborhoods remains present. We must adjust in order to make the safest decision for our students, staff, and families. Thank you for understanding!
