Congratulation to the Northridge Dance Team (NRDT). They arrived home yesterday as STATE CHAMPS in the Hip Hop dance category!! This is an awesome accomplishment and we are proud of you!
We are very proud of the activities that our students are involved in! Yesterday, Northridge High School had send-offs for three different groups going to State competitions this weekend: Northridge Dance Team, Winter Guard, and the Robotics Team. We wish you the best of luck! Go Raiders!

John Stephens was honored during the Middlebury Moment at the school board meeting last week. John was named a 2026 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar and will receive four years of full tuition, fees, and a stipend for books and equipment at any accredited college or university in Indiana! This prestigious scholarship recognizes his exceptional academic performance, leadership, community involvement, and character. John submitted an essay that was selected by NHS administration and counselors to represent Northridge High School. After advancing, he participated in an interview process and was ultimately chosen as this year’s recipient. John was nominated by Mrs. Whitehead, Dr. Whonsetler, Mr.Highley, and Mrs. Clabaugh. Congratulations!!!
Northridge Middle School presented information at last week's school board meeting about their theater troupe. This group performed at State earlier this year after winning the regional competition. Each student shared about what theater means to them, how long they have been involved, and what their favorite memory was from this year. To cap things off, they gave a short performance to the school board that was very humorous. We are very proud of you all!!

Our incredible maintenance team does so much behind the scenes that goes unnoticed. Every single day, they are working hard to ensure our school runs efficiently and, most importantly, safely for all of our students and staff.
From fixing the things we don't even realize are broken, to putting in the physical labor to keep our campus and grounds looking beautiful, we truly couldn't do it without them. 🌳🏫✨

Good morning from art class at Northridge Middle School! Students are already hard at work!
Our 4th-grade students at Heritage Intermediate School took a trip back in time last week for their first annual Pioneer Day! Ten classes rotated through hands-on stations to experience what life was like on the frontier.
Our young pioneers stayed busy:
Churning fresh butter and sewing quilt squares.
Testing their skills at marbles and masterfully square dancing.
Crafting covered wagons to prepare for the trail.
Practicing communication and trade through a bartering simulation between Native Americans and European settlers.
It wasn’t just a lesson—it was an experience! History really comes to life when you’re living it.

A HUGE shoutout to the amazing members of the Northridge High School Science Olympiad team who stopped by to mentor our students and help them extract actual DNA! 🔬🍓
There is nothing quite like seeing that "wow" moment when a complex concept becomes something you can see and hold. We love seeing our high schoolers step up as leaders to inspire the next generation of scientists.

On Saturday, February 7th, 26 Northridge High German students competed against 400+ high schoolers from across the state of Indiana in the 56th annual Staatskongress German Competition, held this year at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers. In a day of academic events, cultural activities, Bratwurst/sauerkraut/pretzel lunch, concluding with an hour of group dance with Jay Fox and his Jammin Germans band, our students had a great time, finishing 7th out of 14 schools state-wide and taking home 25 individual medals. Gratuliere Raiders!!

Shout out to Heritage 4th grader Clara Bennett for earning the President’s Choice Award at the County-Wide Art Show! 🎨 This morning, she shared about her award-winning artwork at the Middlebury Boys and Girls Club’s board meeting and did a fantastic job presenting. We are proud of the way she represents our community!
Oakley Cox from Orchard View was recognized at the board meeting Tuesday evening during the Middlebury Moment. Dr. Snyder had this to say about Oakley:
Oakley Cox, a third-grade student at Orchard View Elementary, has shown truly inspiring growth over the past several years. Oakley began his journey in Miss Schrock’s kindergarten classroom, where he faced significant academic and behavioral challenges and was mostly non-verbal. With the support of Mrs. Gaskill and a paraprofessional during first grade, Oakley began learning how to regulate his behavior and made meaningful academic progress. At the start of second grade, he transitioned into the Mixed Abilities program, where his growth continued.
Now in third grade—his second year in the Mixed Abilities classroom with Mrs. Miller—Oakley’s progress has been remarkable. He has emerged as a leader among his peers, consistently demonstrates empathy toward others, and has experienced accelerated academic growth. Oakley is now reading, communicating confidently with peers and adults, and has not had a single behavioral incident resulting in an office referral this school year. He has also developed a positive and playful rapport with Mr. Martin.
Principal Martin shared, “Oakley’s success is a true testament to the collective efforts of the Orchard View Elementary team, including Miss Schrock, Mrs. Gaskill, Mrs. Nay, Mrs. Nesbitt, Mrs. Palmer, the Mixed Abilities support team, and Mrs. Miller. We also want to recognize Oakley’s parents, Kirk and Kira, for trusting the process and remaining committed—even during the challenges that persisted throughout kindergarten and first grade. A special recognition goes to Ms. Khing, Oakley’s biggest supporter, whose passion, dedication, and unwavering support have played a critical role in his success.”
Oakley’s journey has not been easy, but it has been incredibly rewarding.
