Riley’s journey has been one of steady growth and real determination. There was a time when managing his emotions felt overwhelming, and big feelings sometimes took over his day. He needed extra support and guidance to work through those moments. But Riley has put in the daily effort to better understand himself and has grown in self-control and self-awareness, learning how to recognize his emotions, talk through them, and make positive choices.
This year marks a huge milestone. Riley has made so much progress that the need for additional adult support was removed from his plan because it was no longer necessary. Riley shows us what the results can look like when you combine determination, courage, and a lot of hard work. Principal Kominowski said “What makes Riley even more special is his heart. He is one of the most caring students we have. When other students are struggling, Riley notices. He can relate, he offers advice, and he genuinely wants to help. He has become a leader in his small group, building others up and showing them what growth really looks like. Riley’s journey shows what’s possible when you keep working and don’t give up on yourself. We are proud of the confident, self-aware, and compassionate young man he is becoming, and it is such an honor to celebrate the incredible strides he has made.”
Congrats to you, Riley. We are so incredibly proud of you!

Heritage Intermediate School students are seen in some candid moments from earlier this week. Learning can be fun and friendships are important in the lives of our students!

NMS in-district and all out-of-district 8th grade families -- please mark this on your calendar!!

Today, we are taking a moment to celebrate the absolute unsung heroes of our school! 🦸♂️🦸♀️
Our incredible maintenance team does so much behind the scenes that goes unnoticed. Every single day, they are working hard to ensure our school runs efficiently and, most importantly, safely for all of our students and staff.
From fixing the things we don't even realize are broken, to putting in the physical labor to keep our campus and grounds looking beautiful, we truly couldn't do it without them. 🌳🏫✨
If you see a member of our maintenance team today, please join us in giving them a massive THANK YOU for everything they do! 👏💙

Our 4th-grade students at Heritage Intermediate School took a trip back in time last week for their first annual Pioneer Day! Ten classes rotated through hands-on stations to experience what life was like on the frontier.
Our young pioneers stayed busy:
Churning fresh butter and sewing quilt squares.
Testing their skills at marbles and masterfully square dancing.
Crafting covered wagons to prepare for the trail.
Practicing communication and trade through a bartering simulation between Native Americans and European settlers.
It wasn’t just a lesson—it was an experience! History really comes to life when you’re living it.

Last week, our Heritage Intermediate School Science Club had an incredible time getting hands-on with biology!
A HUGE shoutout to the amazing members of the Northridge High School Science Olympiad team who stopped by to mentor our students and help them extract actual DNA! 🔬🍓
There is nothing quite like seeing that "wow" moment when a complex concept becomes something you can see and hold. We love seeing our high schoolers step up as leaders to inspire the next generation of scientists.
Thank you, Northridge Science Olympiad, for your time, expertise, and for making science so much fun! 👏🌟
