Spotted in the wild: the elusive "Middle School Math Face." 🧐 Its natural habitat is a classroom filled with variables, integers, and the mysterious 'x'. Symptoms include intense concentration, occasional sighs, and sudden "OH, I GET IT!" moments. We are proud of these mathematicians for wrestling with those problems yesterday! They're building some serious brain muscle. 💪

Skylar Sevison was honored during the Middlebury Moment at the school board meeting this week. Dr. Snyder shared that Skylar was born with a bone disorder caused by a very rare genetic condition known as Neurofibromatosis. Skylar has undergone numerous surgeries and hours of therapy and eventually made the brave decision to have her lower leg amputated last January. Since returning to school from surgery, Sklyar has shown bravery and demonstrated a positive outlook- always smiling with an incredible personality. Mrs. Miller, counselor at Heritage, said “Skylar is a perfect example of what grit looks like. Skylar never complains and comes to school daily with a bright smile and a positive attitude. Skylar loves to dance, and with her determination, we know she will be back on the stage showing off her amazing talents.” Skylar- we know you will continue to do wonderful things and inspire others to never give up no matter how difficult the circumstances might be. We are so proud of you!

🚒🔥 NMS Spotlight: MCS Alumni Lucas Wickey, Class of 2014, stopped by Ms. Wagner’s 7th grade Medical Detectives class to share what it’s like to be a firefighter and paramedic with the Middlebury Fire Dept.!
Students got hands-on with life-saving tools and even stepped inside the ambulance, which was clearly their favorite moment!!
Bonus: Ms. Wagner got to honk the horn and was beyond excited! 🚨👏

Last night the school board honored Angely Gonzales Rivera during the Middlebury Moment.

Angely arrived at Northridge as a struggling student and behind in credits. She faced many challenges at her previous school. However, since transferring to NHS, Angely has undergone a remarkable transformation. She has discovered her self-worth and is thriving academically. She has made significant progress, and with continued hard work during this new school year, we believe she will graduate with the Class of 2026! Angely was nominated by her Counselor, Mrs. Todt, and her assistant principals, Dr. Whonsetler and Mr. Highly. They have described her as a wonderful student with an unwavering work ethic and incredible determination. They stated that she has gained confidence, discovered her true potential, and is now firmly on the path to success. Angely- we are so very proud of you!
