Time to Celebrate!
Middlebury Community Schools is excited to share a new tool to make communication between guardians, students, and teachers even easier than before. Families should have or will be receiving a text or email invite with information on how to create an account and sign up for this tool, called Rooms (Edu Rooms). We encourage everyone to create an account and use this tool to communicate with teachers. Codes will be sent again this afternoon for anyone that may have missed the original messages. Here is a short video to help introduce Rooms: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h89V8Pc667Nus8VXV48WQs3O0SoYJlEx/view?usp=sharing After you’ve created your login, you can access Rooms through the MCS app. Once you’re there, you’ll see a toggle at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Just touch Rooms to get started. If you have multiple children attending our district, you’ll see them all listed in the menu section of Rooms. You may need to delete and redownload the app if you already have it. Please note, there was an issue with the app yesterday that has been corrected. Thank you for your patience while we sorted this issue out.

MCS staff members had an awesome opening day celebration this morning. Dr. Snyder and the co-presidents of the MTA spoke, and staff were treated to a presentation from Dr. Amber Selking. Dr. Selking is the VP of Leadership and Culture at Lippert and works with the LSU football team as a performance consultant. She encouraged our staff to build a champion mindset and discussed the positive impact educators can have in the community. Staff were treated to a "go-box" of snacks after the event. What a great way to kick-off the year!!!

Students return to school on August 14th and US 20 is now open and is five lanes. We are excited about both of those things!! With US 20 now being a wider road, we want to remind everyone to be mindful of school bus stop arms. Please be on the lookout and help keep students safe!

One of the requirements for certain staff members is to be certified in CPR. Mrs. Patty Mosness offers multiple trainings every year to help keep everyone up to date. We appreciate everything she does for this certification!

We want to give a special thank you and huge shout out to members of our NHS football team! Tuesday evening they volunteered their time and energy to help their former elementary teachers by delivering curriculum materials to each elementary school. They made quick work of a big job! Their help was very much appreciated! We love seeing our high school students supporting our elementary schools!

Teachers from each of our K-3 buildings are attending the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) conference this week. They are taking time out of their summer to work together to enhance the learning taking place in our schools. We are excited for them to bring back and implement what they learned!
