About us...
Jefferson Elementary School is located in Jefferson Township, seven miles west of Middlebury. Set on a 20-acre campus, the school features soccer fields, updated playground equipment, a fitness trail, and a courtyard, providing students with ample outdoor learning and recreational opportunities. Jefferson Elementary is housed in a modern brick building, completed in 1998, designed to accommodate students in grades K-3, with four sections per grade level.
A secure and safe environment is a top priority at Jefferson. The building is equipped with an entrance monitoring system to ensure student and staff safety at all times.
Each grade level has access to a state-of-the-art STEAM Learning Lab, which includes robotics and hands-on science manipulatives that align with Indiana State Standards. Additionally, every student is provided with a Chromebook to enhance and support their learning experience through technology.
Jefferson Elementary boasts an excellent academic record. In the 2023-2024 school year, 95% of students passed the IREAD assessment, a performance significantly above the state average. Both literacy and math scores consistently exceed state benchmarks, reflecting the school's commitment to academic excellence.
A caring and dedicated team of faculty, support staff, administration, and parents work together to create a positive, nurturing, and safe learning environment. Jefferson operates as a Professional Learning Community (PLC), where teachers collaborate to address individual student needs and ensure continuous growth.
Our mission is to achieve 100% student success, and we believe that through teamwork, collaboration, and a focus on high-quality instruction, we can help every student reach their full potential.
